UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE...

WEEK BEFORE THE BEACH:

I should probably do a major update... but... I kinda have another outlet for getting out all my "this is what I did today"s lol. ;-)

Let's see

I am now a decently tan, 19 year old, with an obsession with beach pictures, writing letters, finding jokes, kissy face pictures, and thinking of true ideas!!!  Kayla and I don't hate each other yet... surprisingly... I have some great friends... I think I might be ready to share my "heart room"... and I'm still in love with the Powerade Slush!

More To Come!  And I have my own digital camera now... :-D

Chapter 8 -- Coping in Campus Social Life -- Friends and Acquaintances

      "Our language calls many things "love," but not all of thema re the kind of love the Bible talks about.  The only forever-loves I know of are God's love for His people, the love of His people for Him, and their brotherly love for each other.  Certain other loves are less than forever but still lifelong, like the union of a Christian mand an woman in marriage:  They don't promise to he husband and wife for eternity but only until they are parted by death.  But most relationships aren't like that.  In most relationships, it's okay to break up.  Pals don't have to find each other fun until death.  Business partners don't have to enjoy doing business until death.  And you don't have to like the same roomates until death.  It isn't a sin to stop liking.

      For these less-than-lifelong kinds of bonds, the bottom line is that you can stop having that special friend-love for a person, but you have to go on having neighbor-love.  Even if the relationship ends, you have to be honest, fair, and kind; and you have to keep from seeking revenge, spreading gossip, of holding a grudge.

      Yes, even if he acts like a rat!  Yes, even if he spreads gossip about you!  While you're at it, remember that by God's standards, you're pretty ratty too.  We all are.  That's we we need the Savior."

Chapter 5 --  Myths About the Search for Knowledge -- WAR      


      "Why must all this be so hard?  Because you're going into war.  I don't mean a war of bombs and bullets and ballistic missiles;  I mean a much more fiery, deadly war of errors and sins and temptations -- of mind-bombs, soul-bullets, and spirtitual powers at great heights.  You see, according to the Bible it's not just a coincidence that the world keeps going wrong.  The Prince of Deceptions launches lies against us as soldiers launch missiles, and the world finds these lies more attractive than the truth.  Our eyes don't see as the angels do, but whenever someone accepts one of the Enemy's myths, it must look to them as though a warhead had exploded in his heart, strewing death and destruction in all directions.

      One more thing.  Do you notice anything missing from Paul's description of the amor of god in Ephesians 6:10-18?  He mentions the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the footguards of readiness to spread the gospel.  Then he mentions the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.  Lacing everything together in prayer.  But all of this armor is for your front.  Paul mentions no armor for your back. 

      Why is that?  Because God does not intend that you ever trun your back to the foe.  John Bunyan explained by way of a story,

   But now in this Valley of Humiliation poor Christian was hard to put to it; for he had gone but a little way before he espied a fould fiend coming over the field to meet him; his name is Apollyon.  Then did Christian begin to be afraid, and to cast in his mind whether to go back or to stand his ground.  But he considered again that he had no armour for his back; and therefore thought that to turn the back to him might give him the greater advantage with ease to pierce him with his darts.  Therefore he resolved to venture and stand his ground; for, thought he, had I no more in mine eye than the saving of my life, it would be best to stand.

      Wear your armor and advance when you can; stand when you must, but never retreat.  Remember this and you'll always be victorious."

I have a very large feeling that this blog entry is going to WEAR ME OUT!!!!

SO... lets start with yesterday.  I got up and went down to VAP ran about 5 then went home and waited to hear from Michael and Kayla.  After quite a bit of miscommunication problems I headed up to the lake with my family for a little while.  MATT TAUGHT ME HOW TO KNEE BOARD!!!









As you can see I never really got up ON MY OWN... but we're gonna work on that in weekends to come.  But I got the strap on!! haha  which was my main goal for the day lol.



There's my little cousin, me, and Brian (with his o so cool sunglasses!) on the boat on while Matt was wake boarding.

AND NOW TO THE SUPER FUN STUFF!!! (Not that family time isn't fun and all!)  I cam home about 6:30 and went over to Michael's house...  We waited for everyone to show up and then Michael started COOKING...



^^ I love that picture!  He fixed hamburgers and hot dogs, steak, and chicken (for me! :-)  So we all (me, k, mich, max, kara, martha, sam and cherish... kaylas sister angie and her husband kevin came by for a little while as well!) sat around and ate...

THEN IT WAS TIME FOR FIREWORKS!!! (which i absolutely HATE btw... but... I tolerated them cause they guys weren't acting TOO stupid...)



I just think that is a great picture of Max! His hair is so pretty... I'm Jealous! 

THE GIRLS! (Again) -- Amy Dub, Martha, Kara, Me, Kayla, and Cherish.  We had our nice little row of seats VERY far away from the ACTION lol.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!! I was getting a little artsy fartsy i guess you could say haha!  They were marveling at their EXPENSIVE purchases! 



And there's Me and K acting goofy!  As Usual!  Have to have atleast a couple good picture to send to Billy! lol

There's the boys yet again marveling at their 150$$ worth of fireworks!!  It was a good show though... THANKS BOYS! :-D





Kyle came when he got off work!!! Very good to see him... I don't think I've really seen him in a while.  Him and Max had fun with the sparklers too... writing their names and all lol.

 

AND THERE'S ME AND MY FAKE BOYFRIEND!!!  O how I miss him so! lol  Hey we never officially broke up... right Kyle?!?  Haha  fun times!




And there's the boys after we got back up to Michael's house... they decided they wanted to go for a late night dip! 


Wow... I LOVE PICTURES!!!  They say it all!! I don't even have to type all that much... this whole digital camera thing is great!  Granted... i don't plan on ever truly giving up the 35 mm... but I guess its kinda nice to have them INSTANTLY!!!  I tried to make a little collage to send to Billy and when I printed it out you couldn't really see eveything that great cause some of them are really dark but HEY!... Its stilll pretty cool.

Anyways... so that was my Forth of July and it was definitely one of the best ones EVER!!  I absolutely LOVE my friends!!  Martha is gonna see if she can go to the beach with us!! (o yah... its now just a beach trip instead of a DISNEY WORLD trip-- thats gonna wait till next year)  But I HONESTLY don't mind ONE BIT!  As long as I get some fun in the sun and a whole week off from work... I don't really CARE what I'm doing.
